- Devil's Hole Reserve, Brisbane Street, Dubbo NSW, Australia
Join us for World Wetlands Day 2026 with a Nature Challenge and picnic dinner. Learn about the lost wetlands and wildlife of Dubbo, plus the species still here and what action we can take for them.
The Nature Challenge involves walking around Devils Hole Reserve, searching for animals, plants, clues, information, and getting creative if you wish! Aimed at adults, families, and anyone interested in nature, this is a great way to learn about the river and local environment. Teams of 1-4 people, just rock up on the day and form a team or go solo.
The nature challenge will be followed by a picnic dinner (BYO) and discussion / community catchup.
Bring: Picnic dinner for yourself, camp chair, water bottle, binoculars if you wish, insect repellent, and a torch if you think you'll be chatting til late!
Wear: Enclosed shoes, long pants.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult.
The event will be cancelled in the event of rain (anything more than light rain).
This event is organised and run by volunteers, powered by community spirit! Please bring kindness, patience and good vibes.
Organised by Healthy Rivers Dubbo, in partnership with Dubbo Field Naturalists & Conservation Society and Dubbo Rivercare Group.
